Navigating SummerStage 2018

Navigating SummerStage 2018

May 22, 2018 | Sports & Entertainment

Calling all music lovers: SummerStage returns this June for four months full of live outdoor music, dance parties, ballet, opera performances, and more. Not sure where to start? No worries — we’ve mapped out everything you need to know to get your groove on when you book a stay this summer at Royalton Park Avenue.

The Basics

Celebrating its 33rd year, SummerStage is New York City’s largest outdoor music festival, held in all five boroughs from June 2nd to September 27th. Genres, both underground and iconic, include everything from indie, rock ‘n’ roll, and pop, to reggae, soul, EDM, and more.

The Lineup

With over 100 performances on deck, it can be difficult to narrow down which day to go and which artists to see. Here are some of our favorite upcoming performances, all within walking distance or a short train ride from Royalton Park Avenue.

Central Park Stage at Rumsey Playfield

June 9th: Bowie Symphonic (A full orchestra performing David Bowie’s Blackstar!)

June 24th: Nicky Siano's Hallelujah Disco with the Harlem Gospel Choir and Melba Moore

July 8th: Joey Bada$$

Tickets

90% of SummerStage shows are free of charge! Ticket fees are only required for artists donating proceeds to charity. You can reserve and purchase benefit tickets here.

Tips

Free shows are first come, first serve, so plan to arrive a half hour ahead of time to secure a seat. Food is permitted, but drinks are not. We suggest cocktails at The Rooftop and a dip in our pool to keep the party going.
