New York’s hottest season doesn’t discriminate. Everyone, from locals to tourists from tropical countries feel the need to hide indoors at some point during summer. Temperatures around mid-80s Fahrenheit (almost 30°C), high humidity and windless days can take their toll. Unless you know exactly what to do and where to go to cool down.
The Pool at Royalton Rooftop is located on the 20th floor. Our sprawling 1000 square foot pool deck features a 40 foot indoor/outdoor pool and ivy wall. It is a luxury urban oasis in the sky situated right in the center of Manhattan with unbeatable views of the iconic Empire State Building.
Sightseeing and walking around the city can leave you feeling lethargic. Avoid that by including a pit stop at one of the many water playgrounds and fountains across the city. Come summer, the Washington Square Park Fountain becomes a mini pool where you can dip your toes and cool down. If you’re in Central Park, visit the Ancient Playground and the Heckscher Playground. Both water playgrounds have spray nozzles and water jets that will bring out the kid in you.
Did you know that Long Island is home to some of New York’s most beautiful beaches? And did you know that it’s only a one-hour train ride from Penn Station? Stop by Atlantica Restaurant to taste some local seafood before catching the train back to New York in the evening. Check the Long Island Railroad special summer packages for more information.
